Welcome to Holiday House! This beautiful home is conveniently located across the street from the Currituck Sound in the beautiful Monterey Shores Neighborhood. It is less than a mile from the beach. The layout of the house has plenty of space for up to nine guests. The sun-filled great room and dining area are perfect for family gatherings. The expansive deck access and a private heated pool make the Holiday House a perfect vacation spot. The private pool with optional pool heater is surrounded by new, comfortable lounge chairs and a dining set for poolside meals. There is also an outdoor pool bathroom complete with a shower for convenience. On the first level, you will find an expansive King En Suite. Being the only room on this level, whoever stays in this bedroom will have tremendous privacy and comfort. Walk up to the second level to get to the other bedrooms. There are two Queen Bedrooms, one with deck access, a full shared bathroom and another King En Suite also with deck access. You will also find a bonus room which has a day bed for another sleep option. You will love the modern furniture and beachy decor throughout this home. The third level is where you will find yourself hanging out the most. Up here is an expansive living space with a lovely sectional couch and a flat screen tv. The large kitchen will allow for great meals to be prepared and there are two options for dining tables. For those who like to talk to the chefs in the kitchen, they will enjoy the bar seating. Venture up to the Crows Nest on this level where you will find a second cozy seating area. There is also a half bathroom on this level for easy access. For the one in the group who stays up late reading a good book, you will likely find them up in the fourth level loft with the Queen Sofa Bed. The Holiday House is located in a neighborhood called Monterey Shores. Make reservations for tennis, pool, boat ramp, and fitness center using the FunFangle app. Staff will confirm your information and verify your identity when accessing the amenities. There is also a playground and a basketball court adjacent to the clubhouse. Monterey Shores has two Sound community docks, the second one just steps from the Holiday House. This property has 4 parking spots for guests. Want added comfort? Consider adding the Heated Pool option! A Heated Pool option can be added upon request for $50 per night of your reservation. This fee is added to your reservation at the time of the request, which must be a minimum of 72 hours before arrival. Pool heat must be added for the entirety of your stay.  This pool is heated by a heat pump. An ambient air temperature of 60 degrees or higher is needed to heat the pool, meaning that if the temperature drops below 60 degrees the pump will not continue to heat. Max pool temperature is 80 degrees.** **Private heated pools will open on April 1st and close on November 1st. Pools and hot tubs are cleaned weekly and no later than 6 p.m. on check-in day. Vendors are subject to enter the backyard to clean the pool and/or spa on scheduled cleaning days. No pets allowed in pools.** Check-in begins at 4 pm. Tommy Wright’s family has been in the Outer Banks for nearly 200 years. His great-great grandfather, Jacob Francis Wright, shipwrecked in Duck back in the early 1800s. Calling these barrier islands his new home, Wright and his family acclimated to their new environment. Adaptation is a common theme for the Wright family. Tommy and his wife Candace, who continue to steer The Cotton Gin, have seen not only their business change with the times, but the Outer Banks as a vacation destination as well. A farm market in Jarvisburg eventually transformed and flourished into several retail locations dotting the Outer Banks. “As the area changed and tourism took off in the 1960s, the family saw people coming for vacations, so they began to grow vegetables and things developed from there,” says Tommy Wright. The Wright family expanded upon the farm market and began to remodel a working cotton gin, later transforming the gin into The Cotton Gin general store in the late 1960s. While the additions to the farm store drew visitors, it was their encounters with the Wright family that kept people coming back year after year, which is something that remains true today.
