In addition to apparel, Barr-ee offers a selection of beautiful rings, bracelets and necklaces featuring diamond and initial pendant designs by Charlene K.Men can choose from classic and casual shirts and shorts, with a number of linen and cotton selections by Island Company and environmentally friendly footwear by Kustom. More like clothing than an accessory, Kustom shoes are made from breathable hemp and cotton. You’ll find Barr-ee Station 3 waiting for you where the Boardwalk stops, at the south end of the Waterfront Shops, with it’s restful benches and light refreshments hitting the spot after a long stroll.One can’t help at least taking a peek into this cozy corner shop, with its interesting and inviting décor luring you in from the deck. On display outside the shop are lovely old wicker chairs, wrought iron planters and ornamental pieces, antique tables, old beach cottage shutters, hand crafted birdhouses and artistic metal sculptures of lobsters and mermaids and the like.Inside its pastel walls you’ll find a unique selection of antiques, furniture and gifts and a clothing and swimwear outlet as well. Among other stunning antiques, lovely hand-painted furniture pieces sit atop samples of their gorgeous oriental rug collection. This eclectic ensemble includes lamps, glassware and other smaller treasures, and adorning the walls is a small and very affordable collection of original paintings by local artists. Shoes, boots and sandals line the shelves at this outlet shoe store, and every one of them is a Bass brand. Known for their comfort, durability and good looks, Bass is quality brand that includes popular styles for men, women and children. Although full-sized Bass stores also offer a line of clothing, this store is focused mostly on footwear. It does, however, sell some socks and a few jackets. There are casual sandals and clogs, dressy heels and lace-up shoes, comfortable walking shoes and even rain boots and other wet weather gear.  The store also offers an excellent selection of Bass handbags and travel bags, as well a selection of rolling luggage. Beach Treasures in Duck on the Outer Banks is recognized for its collections from renowned jewelry designers as well as gemstones from around the globe. Locally owned and operated, Beach Treasures in Duck is located in Wee Winks Square, along the soundside boardwalk.

One of the original surf shops on the Outer Banks, if not in the state of North Carolina, the quaint and friendly Cavalier has been at the same Beach Road location for more than 50 years. It’s been owned and operated by the same local family for close to 30 years, so you know this is the real deal.  Not only does the shop have a lot of customers who come back every year, now they’re seeing children of the repeat customers coming back every season.  At 1,300 square feet, the shop is a simple square building built right at ground level across from the beach. It’s had some close calls, but somehow it has survived numerous hurricanes and nor’easters. A photograph taken after the infamous Ash Wednesday Storm in 1962 shows the devastation on the oceanfront, and there’s the Cavalier sitting intact in the midst of the mayhem. Despite its compact size, the shop is stuffed top to bottom with all a surfer would want: top brand surf clothing and footwear; surf gear and accessories; boards, beach chairs and umbrellas for sale or rent. Surfing lessons are also available, and loyal customers and lovers of Outer Banks heritage can pick up Cavalier T-shirts.  

Corolla Fire & Rescue Squad was established July 1, 1983 as a non-profit volunteer organization funded by Currituck County and the generous donations from our many supporters.  We have grown steadily since 1983, as has the community we serve.  We operate from two stations with two standard Class A engines, two 4-wheel drive Class A engines, a 102 foot aerial platform truck, and various other specialized fire apparatus.  We respond to over 350 fire calls annually from the county line to the North beach access.  We do all of this with 48 dedicated volunteers and frequent assistance from county EMS personnel.

This very cool shop was established here in 1988, and its since been a favorite for locals and visitors looking for unique creations from Outer Banks and regional artisans -- pottery, paintings, jewelry -- but especially to indulge one’s own creative yearnings by making earrings or a necklace, or who knows? There’s a vast selection -- the largest on the beach -- of the prettiest beads of all sizes and colors, including authentic trade and vintage beads, gorgeous seaglass and other jewelry-making supplies to choose from to fashion say, an ankle bracelet or headband.And if you don't know how to start, owner Ginnie Flowers and her staff offer weekly classes and workshops, specializing in seaglass wire wrapping and beading. Along with sharing her talents and supporting over 50 local artists and designers, Ginnie gives back to the community in a number of other ways. She contributes to Dare County’s Arts Council, Animal Rescue, Surfrider Foundation and, to encourage children's literacy, she started a "Read for Beads" program.You'll not want to miss Ginnie's treasure of a shop, tucked away near a corner in Pirate's Quay Shopping Center, just south of the YMCA. Specializing in wearable art, owner Donna Haddon has been hand painting designs for resort clothing for more than 25 years. Her one-of-a-kind creations make her resort clothing irresistible. Donna uses several techniques to paint on clothing, including free hand, batik, airbrush and gyotaku. Her signature method is a mix between block print and screen print. The result of her art is clothing with a truly Outer Banks feel – featuring everything from crabs and sea turtles to shorebirds, seashells and starfish.  Donna’s signature item is a hand-painted ladies fashion tee. Serving Hickory-Smoked Barbecue & Deli Sandwiches for over 25 Years, Duck Deli is as popular and as quaint as its location. The Deli was opened in 1988 by a retired PA dentist, Ronald Forlano, and his son Ken. Today it remains a family venture with Ken, now known as the Deli Llama, still running the business, along with two other brothers and the oldest opening another Duck Deli in PA.Duck Deli boasts “outrageous barbecue” and the “best breakfasts in Duck, which are served every morning of the year from 8-11 am. Available from 11 am to closing are BBQ meals and platters, made with the deli’s own hickory-smoked, pulled chicken, pork or beef. You can also get spicy wings, ribs, crab cakes and ½ or ¼ smoked chicken, as well as meat and veggie subs and sandwiches. All platters come with hushpuppies and a choice of two from a great selection of sides.The owners “take pride” in the smoked meats they cook daily on site. And they “love that you love” their sauces, which are derived from local recipes and enhanced with “Duck Deli flair.” You’ll find that same flair in the deli’s selection of child to adult T-shirts (up to 2X), available in-store..Parking and seating space is limited at this often packed deli, but extra parking across the street and take out are always available. Open ’til 9 pm in-season, the deli closes late afternoon in the fall and spring.Heading north, just past the Duck water tower, on the right, is where you‘ll find this great little deli in the heart of Duck.

As everyone can see just walking past this store, many of the mild-weather recreational activities that can be done outdoors are covered here. Racks in front of the store are filled with fat tire beach cruisers, kayaks and surfboards. Inside, surf gear and beach wear ---bathing suits, shorts, shirts and dresses, pants and hoodies ---fill racks and shelves.

This outlet store features clothing geared towards outdoor living, making it a popular place to shop for Outer Banks residents and tourists who think the best way to enjoy the beautiful barrier islands is by being outside. Since it’s an outlet store, prices are already cut. But seasonal sales offer fantastic bargains, so it’s always worth a stop to see what’s the latest deal. This is a good place to find coats and jackets for men and women, ranging from super warm for the winter months, to raingear and lightweight cover-ups for spring and summer months. There is always a good selection of active wear suitable for golfing or walking, from shirts, skirts, shorts and pants. High-quality backpacks of every size and for every need are also available.

Unlike most businesses on the Outer Banks, the summertime is the quiet time at this tanning salon, meaning you’re more likely not to have to wait for one of the five tanning beds. But even if you just need to touch up your tan before hitting the beach, you’ll find what you need here.  The medium low-pressure “super bed” offers a 15-minute session for those gals or guys who haven’t tanned in a while, and the medium high-pressure 12-minute session (and most popular) is great for those with a “base” who want the quickest and tannest tan.  Sessions can be purchased individually or in packages. There are also at least 40 tanning lotions in stock,  ranging from the most fabulous and expensive, like Designer Skin Black, to mid-range, like Party at the Mansion, to the more affordable, like Super Black. The salon also sells wonderful skin moisturizers and exceptional outdoor tanners and spray-on tan. Twilight Teeth are also available for purchase to whiten your teeth while you’re tanning. In addition to tanning products, the salon sells purses, jewelry, sunglasses and designer jeans.

Every inch of this brightly colored store is filled with fashionable, must-have shoes, clothing, and accessories ---sunglasses, earrings, necklaces, rings, hats, and purses --- for a woman looking for the latest trends in fashion. The store, located at the Shoppes at 10.5, off the Bypass at Milepost 10.5, had been opened for three years in Kill Devil Hills before owner Betsy Buchanan moved it to the current Nags Head location.

Campground stores don’t get much better than the one at the Frisco Woods Campground. At the Frisco Woods Camp Store, you can find everything you need for the perfect Outer Banks camping trip and you will without a doubt leave as a happy camper. Not only can campers find all the necessities they need such as firewood, groceries, RV needs, beach toys, snacks, coffee, beer and wine and ice cream, there is more. The kids will love the large selection of toys, seashells and puzzles while the adults can browse the souvenirs, gifts, local books, shoes and T-shirts. If you are interested in windsurfing lessons, kayak lessons or just have a question about the area, stop by and talk to the friendly staff. Have a question about the campground and camping cabins? This is the place you will find all your answers. You will also be able to find WiFi here too. The campground is located on Highway 12 between Buxton and Hatteras Village. The Gap Outlet store at Tanger Outlet Mall at Milepost 15.5 off the Bypass in Nags Head isn’t just for young people, and it isn’t just about jeans. Men and women of all ages can be seen looking for one of the many bargains and markdowns on dresses, blouses, shorts, men’s shirts and pants, jackets, coats, workout wear, sweaters, T-shirts and hoodies, hats, gloves and shoes. There are plenty of dressing rooms, so even when the store is crowded, there’s seldom a wait to try on clothes. 

Gulf Stream Gifts in Nags Head, NC (Outer Banks, MP 10.5) offers a great variety of sterling silver, 14kt gold and fashion jewelry with a coastal flair. We also have souvenirs such as mermaids and turtles, t-shirts, wind chimes, greeting cards, Christmas figurines, hats, beach coverups, sunglasses and books. Whatever “unmentionable” garment you need, you’ll likely be able to find it here.  There’s a vast selection of Bali, Hanes and Playtex in both women’s panties and bras. Sizes go from pre-teen tiny to extra large, but naturally the best choices are in the mid-ranges. There is also a large line of Champion athletic wear for women, which is hard to find on the Outer Banks. The selection of high impact bras for exercise is especially good, and there’s often a sale. The store also sells lacy and more delicate underwear for romantic evenings, as well as some shape wear. And yes, the store also sells men’s under garments, but you have to go to the back to find them. And that’s where you’ll also find women’s socks and panti-hose.

An old fashion general store not to miss! 

Here’s a place you can’t help feeling happy visiting. Founded in 1994 by brothers Bert and John Jacobs, Life is Good is centered around products featuring a simple drawing of a character, Jake, and his contagious smile.  As the company took off nationally, the drawings have expanded to depictions on products of other charming characters, including a very cute dog. With its ceiling covered with surfboards, the shop offers custom made Secret Spot Surf Boards and used boards, body boards, skim boards, as well as skate gear.  Board rentals and surf lessons are also available.
