Each with a private bathroom, the spacious bedrooms offer guests a place to retreat when the day is over.

A theater and rec room are available on the ground floor and built with entertainment in mind. The theater offers a 100" projector screen and tiered leather seats with cupholders. The rec room has a pool table, kitchenette, and access to the pool area. The fully fenced outdoor space at Blessed includes a pool, sheltered hot tub, poolside loungers, a raised gazebo, a poolside bar area with granite countertops, a Smart TV with Dish, icemaker, two refrigerators, and a sink, a cabana bath, and outdoor shower. You're not far from the ocean, so whether you're taking a stroll along the beach, listening to the waves lapping against the shore, or playing in the water, you are sure to soak up every minute you spend on the Outer Banks!

The ground floor is where the fun comes alive, whether you're inside or out. The rec room offers a pool table, kitchenette, and sectional sofa seating. The sofa is centered around a large flatscreen TV positioned over a seasonal gas fireplace. The kitchenette has a sink, a microwave, a dishwasher, and a full-sized refrigerator, making it the perfect place to store snacks and drinks for those hanging out in the rec room, watching a movie in the theater, or spending time out by the pool. Bedding on this level includes one bedroom with two twin bunks and a private bath.

Make your way outside to enjoy fun in the sun in the secluded backyard. A sparkling pool, a bubbling hot tub, and plenty of seating for you and your group await, making it ideal to spend time outdoors together. There is a conveniently located cabana bath accessible from the pool area and an outdoor shower that makes it easy to rinse off the sand and salt before heading back inside.

The second floor of Blessed is home to the great room, kitchen, and dining area that all share one open space, making it the perfect place for your group to spend time together inside. Whether you're enjoying the latest episode of your favorite TV show, whipping up a meal for your entire group to enjoy, or sitting at the dining table playing a game of cards, everyone can be in the space together without feeling crowded. The kitchen is equipped with a sink, Keurig, two dishwashers, a refrigerator, a double oven, and a stove. There is also a pantry ideally suited for food storage during your vacation. The large kitchen island allows for ample space to prepare and enjoy meals with additional bar seating for seven. The great room has plenty of comfortable seating around a mounted flatscreen TV and a seasonal gas fireplace. Make your way out onto the second floor deck that overlooks the pool area and leads up to the crow's nest. The uppermost deck offers panoramic views of the surrounding area and the ocean with Polywood chairs for seating. There is a half bath located on this level. Bedding on this floor includes two kings with private baths. One of the bedrooms has deck access, a walk-in closet, a soaking tub, and a tiled walk-in shower in the bathroom.

Updates for 2023: Fresh exterior paint, new poolside stereo system with Bluetooth, and a new poolside bar with barn door entry, granite countertops, Smart TV with Dish, icemaker, two refrigerators, sink, and different seating options. Trex was added around the pool and bar.

Pool: Pool heated by heat pump. Ambient air temperature of 60 degrees or higher is needed to heat the pool, meaning that if the temperature drops below 60 degrees the pump will not continue to heat. Max. pool temperature is 80 degrees.

Awful Arthur's Oyster Bar

Welcome to the home of the happy oyster where for over 40 years the oyster has been our world. The Outer Banks only authentic oyster bar is the place to enjoy sensational fare from the sea washed down with your favorite brew or cocktail. We serve by the peck, pound, and dozen, raw or steamed to perfection. Kicked back casual, down to earth friendly staff, and reasonable prices make Awful Arthur’s Oyster Bar the all-time favorite of locals and travelers alike.

The idea wasn’t to set out and establish a new concept restaurant on the Outer Banks, but that’s exactly what Awful Arthur’s owner Jo Whitehead and her late husband, Jay, accomplished more than 35 years ago when they opened the area’s first authentic oyster bar.

 

Awful Arthur’s opened in May 1984 on the Outer Banks. “We embraced the concept of an authentic copper top bar with the idea of it being a major drawing card and it still is,” explains Whitehead. “I get oysters wherever they are local. We follow the warm waters.” 

 

Just across from the ocean, in Kill Devil Hills, oyster season is year-round at Awful Arthur’s. Diners can take a seat at the copper-topped bar to observe the staff shucking oysters, served raw or steamed, along with shrimp, crab legs and clams all steamed to perfection. 

 

It’s not just the raw bar that’s earned Awful Arthur’s both local and national recognition, including being named one of America’s greatest oyster bars by Coastal Living magazine. The restaurant is a seafood-lover’s paradise, offering the freshest catches available.
