Oceanfront Sand Dollar is located on a primary dune and has priceless ocean views in an inviting setting. The ground level has concrete parking, and an outside shower, and a fish cleaning table. Gating and fencing provide separate play areas for pets and kids. The first level has four bedrooms and two baths. The first bedroom is an oceanfront main bedroom with a TV and a private bath, plus deck access to the private hot tub. The second bedroom is oceanfront with a TV and deck access, plus a private entrance to a shared bath. There are two additional bedrooms, one with two twins and the other with a captain's bed, and each room has a TV and sunset views. The second level great room has tall beamed ceilings, a picturesque wall of glass leading to an oceanfront deck, a half bath, and stunning views. Enjoy the well-equipped kitchen complete with a breakfast bar and oceanfront dining. The centrally-located wet bar is indispensable at happy hour. Evening conversations will hum in the comfortable sitting area furnished with an entertainment center. Things to know:You will be required to sign an additional lease agreement upon making a booking which will be sent to your email. You will not be able to check in until we have received your signature electronically. Please contact us directly if you do not receive this agreement. A playful use of the many ocean and sky blues is mixed in with this semi-oceanfront Hatteras home! Less than a minute from the ocean walkway, Kite Tales tells the classic story of a happy Hatteras vacation holiday. Its four-bedroom and two-bathroom accommodations along with its dog-friendly policy, invites everyone (including four-legged friends) to come on this getaway retreat. Starting at the very top of this one-story home is the rooftop deck situated for optimum ocean views and decorated in vibrant blue lounging deck chairs. The main entrance is greeted by the living room, with plenty of seating and room to relax before (or after) a full day on the beach. Directly beyond that is the eight-seated dining room table with a fireplace backdrop and cozy reading corner. The Hatteras Landing shops are great for a shopping day while waiting for the ferry boats to sail you straight to Ocracoke (another amazing Island adventure featuring a brewery, art, books, restaurants, events, and lots of pirate lore). Back on Hatteras, this home is located near the Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum (with free admission, donations appreciated) as well as the final beach access ramp on Hatteras for off-road vehicles. With many restaurants, bakeries/coffee shops, art galleries, and soundside rentals you will have so many great memories and stories to tell when you stay at Kite Tales. Tommy Wright’s family has been in the Outer Banks for nearly 200 years. His great-great grandfather, Jacob Francis Wright, shipwrecked in Duck back in the early 1800s. Calling these barrier islands his new home, Wright and his family acclimated to their new environment. Adaptation is a common theme for the Wright family. More than 2,000 shipwrecks sunk off the Coast of North Carolina in what’s called the Graveyard of the Atlantic. With all that history floating around, it was only natural to build a museum to honor and preserve the maritime culture of the Outer Banks. A state-of-the-art structure, the year round museum houses and displays artifacts, and presents a variety of exhibits and interprets the rich maritime culture that includes war, piracy, ghost ships and more. Artifacts include thoseex from the USS Monitor, which sank 16 miles off the Hatteras coast. The lobby features the stunning and original, 1854, First Order Lens from the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. Current hibits include those on piracy and the Civil War on Hatteras Island.
