The elegant interior design invites guests to relax in luxury among the serene and timeless ambiance of exotic animal prints and sculptures. An elevator lends accessibility to every level of the house and brings everyone together with ease.

The top floor features a comfortable living space with wide ocean vistas, an elegant baby-grand piano for the musician in the family, and plenty of seating for movie nights around the TV. There's a Captains watch and a sun room which both have great views from the west and south faces of the house, and seating for gaming, puzzles, or reading in peace. The dining room has beautiful and comfortable seating for 10. The spacious kitchen with granite counter tops, a gas range, double convection oven, and an island wet-bar is perfect for easy entertaining while cooking for the whole family. Well stocked with with all of the modern conveniences, it'll handle any meal you can think of! The top-level deck provides plenty of space to watch the kids in the pool from above, and has an exterior stair that connects all levels to the bottom level where there is a fenced-in pool deck. The master bedroom with king bed features a luxurious one-person sauna as well as a jet-tub and shower stall.
A seriously beautiful work of art graces the entry door- the main entrance on the second floor which leads right into the billiard room. A wonderful claw-foot antique style pocket billiards table will provide hours of fun for kids and adults alike! Remaining bedrooms on the second floor include 2 queen bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, and a queen bedroom with a jack-and-jill bathroom adjoining the twin bunk room. The baby changing station, shower and toilet can be private behind a door, separating the double sinks from the rest of the bathroom. Family time never gets any easier than in this comfortable space! Decks on the second floor (with access from east bedrooms) also include a hot tub for after hours relaxation.
The bottom floor of the home has an entrance directly from the pull-under garage space, and easy access to the elevator. There's a second fridge, microwave, wet-bar, and dishwasher, lending the bottom floor perfectly to private living for whoever in the family may desire that.
There's also a king bedroom with ensuite full bath. The laundry room has a utility sink along with washer and dryer. The ground floor also has a ping-pong table in the beautifully decorated space including a jungle mural on the wall. The pool deck is fenced in, concrete, and contains an out-door shower to rinse all the sand off after the beach and all the chlorine off after the pool.
Swan Coast is a dreamy place, with so many spaces for gathering or for solitude. Come enjoy the oceanfront experience; crashing waves, soft ocean breezes and blue expanses from every level. The huge number of stars in the sky and the moon rising over the ocean will remind you of how grand the world is and how lucky you are to be right where you are. Friday Check in - 4 Wheel Drive Required - Approximately 7 miles up the 4x4 beach. No pets! Hot tub and pool open Mid May to late September. Parking at the house is free and unlimited. Guests will borrow the two season passes for parking on the beach. No graduation or event groups of any kind are allowed in our homes.

Independently owned by a member of one of the Outer Banks’ oldest families, the Ben Franklin store is stocked with just about everything a visitor would need to go to the beach.

 

Ben Franklin stores were once part of a five-and-dime retail empire, with about 2,500 locations across the country in its heyday. As decades passed and the times and customers began to change, many closed their doors, leading to fewer than 150 of these nostalgic shops. Nags Head Ben Franklin, however, has withstood the test of time and adapted to the needs of its customers to provide a memorable shopping experience on the Outer Banks.

 

Debbie Terry Tolson, manager of the Ben Franklin location in Nags Head, recalls working with former owner Tommie Daniels. Daniels’ father, Moncie Daniels, started the business in downtown Manteo in the early 1900s. The Daniels family has been a longstanding fixture in the Outer Banks business community—Moncie even sold gas to the Wright brothers in 1903.

 

Tommie, with an excellent business mind, saw the opportunity the new Bypass presented and, in 1977, he opened the Nags Head location of Ben Franklin. He was one of the first businesses on the Bypass,” Tolson says.In addition to a new location, the Ben Franklin store saw a new group of customers.

 

“People would come from all around because Tommie had a little bit of everything—it was more like a five and 10 then,” Tolson explains. “As he went to the beach, he began to get more tourists, so he started catering more and more to visitors.”

 

Today, the 21,000-square-foot souvenir shop quickly catches the attention of anyone driving by thanks to the ocean-themed mural that decorates the façade of the building, painted by local artist Rob Snyder. This Ben Franklin location has become the must-stop shop for both first-time visitors to the area and generations of families who escape to the Outer Banks annually.

 

Tolson credits the great prices and friendly customer service to the success of the location, which keeps families returning.“People come in all the time and tell me, ‘my grandmother or my grandfather used to bring me here and now I’m bringing my children,’” she shares. “One of my favorite parts about working here is seeing the people come back year after year.”
