Build a beautiful resort village on a favorite Hatteras Island location, and they will come. The Cottages at the Cape are the closest rental units to the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse in Buxton. They share a long border with the national park and are literally steps from the beachfront. Bring the bikes, because Buxton’s unique shops, restaurants, and lighthouse are all very close. Forget the 4WD vehicle - those in the know have discovered that the three jetties to the east of the cottages produce some of the best fishing, surfing, and swimming on this island. Walking to the south will take you to open beaches, the famed Cape Point, and if luck is on your side during the summer, a few sea turtle nests (be careful to stay outside the barriers). This is an excellent two-bedroom condo with one-and-a-half baths. The interior has been professionally-decorated with comfortable and fun beach décor. Dixie Arrow is located ocean-side with direct boardwalk access to the beach on the quiet Oceanview Drive. The third floor has a large great room with ceiling fans and a brand-new (2024) kitchen with a breakfast bar. Sliding doors lead to a large, all-new (as of 2024) deck with an ocean view complete with deck furniture and a picnic table. The second floor features a bonus room for kids with a foosball table, a new stair Tamer, a TV with front side A/V jack, a sofa bed, and a second fridge/freezer. A private deck exits the first floor to a private decked pool. The grill, fish cleaning station area, and showers are located in the under-house entry. OCEANSIDE Salvo - Rampart St. You'll want to "STAY" at SURF DOGS, with a roomy great room with cathedral ceilings, tile floor, and living area with sizable flat screen TV/DVD with surround sound. The beautiful, modern kitchen has plenty of counter space for meal prep and laying out buffet meals. Sit at the breakfast bar or at the close by dining table. Sit back with a good book on the shaded first level deck or relax in the inviting hot tub after a day of playing in the waves. There are two bedrooms on the first level, including a king bedroom with roll-in shower, and two more queen bedrooms upstairs. A game room with pool table, foosball, and TV/DVD is located on the second level with view down to the great room, and access to the second level oceanside sundeck. The beach is just a short walk down a peaceful side street. Gather the family on Hatteras Island this year and don't forget to bring your SURF DOGS. Guest Review:"This was our third time renting from Beach Realty and the personnel have always been very friendly and helpful each time we have worked with them. We loved the house in Whalehead Beach and it was a perfect location; very close to everything. We especially loved being so close to the grocery store. We liked how large the neighborhood was with lots of long straight streets for walking, running and riding bikes each morning. Although we were not beach front we had awesome ocean views and could hear the waves while sitting on the deck enjoying our morning coffee. The house was extremely clean and very comfortable. Our family had a wonderful laid back time. We enjoyed the various local eateries each evening and especially enjoyed the Currituck Lighthouse as well as the sound boardwalk in Duck in the evening.
