Primarily dedicated to bedding, the lowest level of Shore To Please has eight king bedrooms and one queen special access bedroom. All of the bedrooms have private bathrooms, flat screen TVs, two have doors that open to the pool area, and eight have custom tile showers (one bathroom has a tub).

The private pool area leads to the separate poolhouse, which offers two king suites, both with private baths, and a sitting area that has a sleepsofa. The poolhouse roof deck is a great vantage point to enjoy gorgeous ocean views - it's also the perfect place to catch some rays! There are two outdoor showers for easy rinse off after the beach or pool, three gas grills, and two cornhole games that are available for your use.

First Floor

One of the king suites is unique as it offers a wet bar with a wine cooler in the bedroom and a barber chair in the private bathroom. Total bedding on this level includes three kings, two queens, and a bunk suite. The bunkroom includes two built-in queen-over-queen bunksets, an en suite media den with an Xbox One and a sleepsofa, and two separate bathrooms (one with a tile shower, one with a tub). This suite is the perfect place for the kids - they'll have their own retreat and fun place to hang out!

Appliances include double wall ovens, two sinks, two refrigerators, two Keurigs (as well as two traditional coffee makers), three dishwashers, three microwaves, and a beverage fridge. An adjacent custom wine tasting room offers built-in wine storage racks (bring own wine), commercial icemaker, and two wine coolers, the perfect place to store your bottles for the week. On the west end of this level, a poker room offers a separate area for entertainment. The bedrooms on this floor include two king bedrooms and one queen bedroom, each with their own private bath. The west king bedroom includes a vanity, a wet bar with a wine fridge, a sitting area, and the bathroom has a clawfoot tub, and a separate tile shower. A laundry room is also available.

Updates for 2024: New furniture in great room, new chairs and artwork in the foyer, new polywood loungers around the pool, new outdoor furniture on the pool house rooftop deck, three new dishwashers, three new refrigerators, and two new washing machines.

Updates for 2023: New theater chairs, a beverage fridge replaced the icemaker in the kitchen, and an icemaker was added to the wine room.

Most know The Cotton Gin as a must-stop shop for fine gifts, beachwear, souvenirs and so much more, but this retailer has a long-standing history within the Outer Banks. A local landmark that holds almost a century of memories, The Cotton Gin started from humble beginnings and continues to adapt to the times and tourists. Tommy Wright’s family has been in the Outer Banks for nearly 200 years. His great-great grandfather, Jacob Francis Wright, shipwrecked in Duck back in the early 1800s. Calling these barrier islands his new home, Wright and his family acclimated to their new environment.

 

Adaptation is a common theme for the Wright family. Tommy and his wife Candace, who continue to steer The Cotton Gin, have seen not only their business change with the times, but the Outer Banks as a vacation destination as well. A farm market in Jarvisburg eventually transformed and flourished into several retail locations dotting the Outer Banks.

 

“As the area changed and tourism took off in the 1960s, the family saw people coming for vacations, so they began to grow vegetables and things developed from there,” says Tommy Wright. The Wright family expanded upon the farm market and began to remodel a working cotton gin, later transforming the gin into The Cotton Gin general store in the late 1960s. While the additions to the farm store drew visitors, it was their encounters with the Wright family that kept people coming back year after year, which is something that remains true today.
