Step Back In Time With This Classic Ocean Front Outer Banks Home

From its rich wooden walls to its delightful 'mud room' and fantastic views, this timeless home lets you relive a bygone era. But don't think you have to 'rough it' just because you love the past. Far from it in fact. This home features every modern convenience, such as a dishwasher, central heat and air, and flat screen TVs with DVD players.

One of the most unique features of this storied home is its massive bedrooms. Far from being just a 'room with a bed' in it, these bedrooms are complete worlds all by themselves. Bedrooms haven't been this big in almost a century. Upstairs, you have the main 'kids area' or second family room. It features a reading nook, two larger beds, a full sitting area complete with TV, and still plenty of room leftover to play and live.

Did I mention the view? They don't build homes this close to the beach anymore. And they certainly don't build such spacious decks anymore either. The dining area, living area, and more has a perfect view of the ocean. You can spend the entire day on the beach and let the kids run back and forth all day without worry. After all, it's only a few feet away. The deck is the perfect place to curl up with your book while the kids build a sandcastle on the beach. You can also fall asleep listening to the waves lapping on the beach and wake to the sun rising over the ocean.

There are plenty of restaurants nearby. You can grab a bite at Chilli Peppers, within walking distance of this home, and Awful Arthur's is also minutes away. You are also close to the Avalon Fishing Pier, where you can spend all day fishing. Boutique shopping and historic sites like Wright Memorial are also nearby.

Located next to property #421 Wade for families who need more than one home.

Established in 1948 by Walter and Stelle Gray, Gray’s began as a single store on the beach road in Nags Head, a land mark that has been beautifully transformed into Seagreen Art Gallery. Visitors to the original Gray’s may remember that the family home was located above the store and that Walter Gray had a passion for Big Band music that was often playing on the store speakers, giving shoppers a little swing in their step.

Modern-day Gray’s is still family owned and operated by their children Ronnie and Julie Gray, who carry on a legacy of superior customer service and traditional values. Ronnie’s wife Susan is also an important part of the business. “It really was always a family operating as a business rather than a business being run by a family,” explains Ronnie Gray. “When our visitors come in, they are greeted by a warm hello and a ‘Welcome to Gray’s.’ We try to welcome them as if they’re entering our own home”
