Ground Level: Exterior amenities include a completely gated private saltwater pool, carport, and driveway that fit 5-6 cars, an outside shower, picnic table, and a sand path beach walkway. Accessible only by the ground-level exterior door, you'll find the Recroom with a foosball table, darts, TV, and games. 

Mid Level: The Mid Level is the main entry to the home. The entryway hall provides a convenient laundry area with a washer, dryer, and utility sink. Unwind with ocean vistas in Bedroom #1, the King Master Bedroom, with a flat-screen TV and deck access to the Hot Tub. Listen to waves crash as you fall asleep in Bedroom #2, the comfortable Queen Bedroom with a flat-screen TV and deck access. Also from the hallway is a roomy full bathroom and Bedroom # 3, furnished with a Bunk Set, Trundle Bed, and a flat-screen TV. 

Top Level: From the interior staircase you are greeted with a Great Room with plenty of natural light, flat-screen cable TV/DVD, and cozy seating. The dining area seats 8 with deck access and ocean vistas. Appreciate the well-equipped kitchen with 2 fridges, an ice maker, and a breakfast bar seating for 3. Lastly, the top level provides a full hallway bathroom and Bedroom # 4, a Queen Bedroom with a flat-screen TV.

Linens and towels are supplied all year. This home will provide sheets for all beds and the beds will be made except for sleep couches, top bunk beds, and trundle beds in which case the sheets are included. This home also provides 1 bath towel and 1 wash cloth per person the home sleeps, 2 hand towels per full bathroom, 1 hand towel per half bathroom, and a bath mat for each shower or tub.

Booking: During the booking process you will be asked to enter a credit card number, nothing will be charged to this card. After booking, you will receive an e-mail to sign your lease agreement and make your advance payment electronically. You will have 3 days to sign your lease agreement and pay your advance deposit to avoid cancellation. We offer optional travel insurance that you can opt in or out of on your lease agreement. Your final payment will be due 30 days prior to arrival. Reservations booked within 45 days of arrival will have 72 hours to sign the lease agreement and submit payment in full.

Most know The Cotton Gin as a must-stop shop for fine gifts, beachwear, souvenirs and so much more, but this retailer has a long-standing history within the Outer Banks. A local landmark that holds almost a century of memories, The Cotton Gin started from humble beginnings and continues to adapt to the times and tourists. Tommy Wright’s family has been in the Outer Banks for nearly 200 years. His great-great grandfather, Jacob Francis Wright, shipwrecked in Duck back in the early 1800s. Calling these barrier islands his new home, Wright and his family acclimated to their new environment.

 

Adaptation is a common theme for the Wright family. Tommy and his wife Candace, who continue to steer The Cotton Gin, have seen not only their business change with the times, but the Outer Banks as a vacation destination as well. A farm market in Jarvisburg eventually transformed and flourished into several retail locations dotting the Outer Banks.

 

“As the area changed and tourism took off in the 1960s, the family saw people coming for vacations, so they began to grow vegetables and things developed from there,” says Tommy Wright. The Wright family expanded upon the farm market and began to remodel a working cotton gin, later transforming the gin into The Cotton Gin general store in the late 1960s. While the additions to the farm store drew visitors, it was their encounters with the Wright family that kept people coming back year after year, which is something that remains true today.
