Welcome to Casa Caribe, an elegant beach cottage with six primary bedrooms. Located in beautiful Hatteras Village, this home boasts more than 4,600 square feet of living space and 1,800 square feet of covered and open decks. Take in ocean views from the south and a serene atmosphere overlooking the marsh, the creek, and Pamlico Sound beyond.

Unloading your car is easy, with protected and well-lighted under-house parking on concrete, a lockable guest closet to store your gear, and some beach chairs, a beach cart, an umbrella, an auger, boogie boards, and inflatable pool toys available for your use. There's also a fish-cleaning station where you can prep your fresh-caught dinner.

Beach access is via a boardwalk that's an easy, short walk from the house, within the privacy of the Summerplace subdivision. Outside the home, the large pool area is ready for games, cookouts, and swimming. A Weber gas grill, dining tables, comfortable chairs, and chaises make for a great addition or alternative to spending the day at the beach. You'll also have two outdoor showers, a pull shower, and a foot shower for rinse-offs.

Enjoy a ground-level elevator that accesses every floor (with a cab that's larger than most home elevators), a UV light Air Scrubber Whole-House Air Purifier,
high-speed WiFi, and free long-distance calling. There's a commercial ice maker to keep your refreshments cold, two sets of HE washers/dryers, and LCD HDTVs with the DirecTV premier package in all bedrooms. Netflix, Roku, and an Xbox 360 are also available.

Inside, the first level is sure to be a crowd pleaser. The game room overlooks the pool and boasts a pool table, a card/game table, a 60-inch HDTV with a Blu-ray player, a home theater, a stereo, video games, books, puzzles, and board games. There's also a kitchenette with a full-size refrigerator, a microwave, a coffee maker, a dishwasher, and peninsula seating. Moving to the back, there's a primary bedroom with two single beds, a full bathroom with custom tile shower, and a nice view over the pool toward the ocean.

There are four primary bedrooms on the second floor. The two ocean view king bedrooms have private bathrooms, one with a deep Roman soaking tub. The third king bedroom, with a marsh and creek view, is the largest and has a recessed window seat. The full bathroom features a roll-under vanity and sink and a custom shower with grab bars, a built-in seat, a rain-can showerhead, and an additional hand-held shower. The fourth bedroom has double bunks and an attached full bathroom with a shower/tub and kid-friendly art and amenities. Also on this floor are a quiet sitting area, a hall desk with a charging station, and a covered, ocean view deck extending the entire width of the house.

From the walls of windows to the open floor plan, the top level has it all. The great room features plenty of seating, another 60-inch HD LCTV with DirecTV, Roku, free Netflix, a home theater, a Blu-ray/DVD player, and a contemporary gas fireplace. Adjacent to the great room is the dining area with a table seating 12. Double French doors from the dining area lead to the south-facing sundeck with great ocean views - a perfect spot to enjoy the sunrise or an afternoon cocktail.

The kitchen is exceptionally large, with a wall of windows overlooking the marsh, creek, and sound. It comes complete with a commercial six-burner range top, an overhead ventilation hood, double ovens, a warming drawer, a microwave, a Breville smart toaster oven, two dishwashers, two huge farm sinks, a large stainless French-door refrigerator with two ice makers, an under-counter wine refrigerator, and exceptional-quality cookware and tools.

A screened dining porch is through the door from the kitchen, offering built-in speakers for music. The porch has seating for 10 while the adjacent open deck features an additional bistro table for two. This deck also offers an eight-person hot tub and spectacular sunset views over the marsh.

The owner's primary king suite is also on the top floor, offering deck access, ocean views, a dressing area with a separate vanity, and a custom open closet system. There's a custom shower spa, a deep Roman soaking tub, and a frosted glass door that leads outside to the hot tub.

Don’t forget the gourmet market, or shop our beautiful linens for your bedroom and bath. We also feature coastal books and fine art, or just a whimsical fun gift to bring home to family and friends. Stop by soon and don’t forget to try our estate grown wines in our stores or visit our vineyard and winery, Sanctuary Vineyards, located adjacent to the original Cotton Gin in Jarvisburg.

Most know The Cotton Gin as a must-stop shop for fine gifts, beachwear, souvenirs and so much more, but this retailer has a long-standing history within the Outer Banks. A local landmark that holds almost a century of memories, The Cotton Gin started from humble beginnings and continues to adapt to the times and tourists. Tommy Wright’s family has been in the Outer Banks for nearly 200 years. His great-great grandfather, Jacob Francis Wright, shipwrecked in Duck back in the early 1800s. Calling these barrier islands his new home, Wright and his family acclimated to their new environment.

Adaptation is a common theme for the Wright family. Tommy and his wife Candace, who continue to steer The Cotton Gin, have seen not only their business change with the times, but the Outer Banks as a vacation destination as well. A farm market in Jarvisburg eventually transformed and flourished into several retail locations dotting the Outer Banks.

“As the area changed and tourism took off in the 1960s, the family saw people coming for vacations, so they began to grow vegetables and things developed from there,” says Tommy Wright. The Wright family expanded upon the farm market and began to remodel a working cotton gin, later transforming the gin into The Cotton Gin general store in the late 1960s. While the additions to the farm store drew visitors, it was their encounters with the Wright family that kept people coming back year after year, which is something that remains true today.
