Book your next trip with Tradition Fishing and come discover endless possibilities in Hatteras, North Carolina! These waters have something for everyone, from the dedicated angler to the adventurous family. Trips are run by Captain Cameron Whitaker, a Hatteras Island native who has been fishing these waters for most of his life. His goal is to give everyone on board the experience of a lifetime!
Step aboard a 25’ Ricky Scarborough, a fishing machine built in 2018 and ready to go. Powered by a 250 HP Suzuki engine, this craft has a maximum cruising speed of 25 knots. She comes equipped with a flybridge and advanced fishing technology, including Garmin electronics and a live bait well. There is room on board for up to four passengers and children of all ages are welcome.
You will find no shortage of opportunities while exploring the inshore and nearshore waters of Hatteras. A half day trip takes you around the inlet and into the backwaters of the Pamlico Sound, where you can catch Bluefish, Flounder, Cobia, slot Red Drum, and even trophy Red Drum on occasion.
A full day trip allows you to cast lines in many different areas, with a chance to reel in the same species (only more of them!) and perhaps even some which live farther out in the ocean. Even those who are not avid fishermen can enjoy these waters while clamming and sand dollaring.
Capt. Cameron provides fishing gear by Innovative Reel Technology and Meat Hog Fishing. Depending on the species, you might target your catch using any technique from trolling and drift fishing to popping. You can also target some species on fly, or by spearfishing and bow fishing. Anglers intent on using these specialized techniques should bring their own equipment.
Tradition Fishing provides a fishing license and spinning gear. Depending on the species and local regulations, you are welcome to keep your catch.
Come aboard today for an unforgettable experience!
