Surfers, filmmakers, movie buffs, nature fans, and curious visitors alike can all come together for an incredible film festival that celebrates all things aquatic. Presented by Cucalorus and the Dare County Arts Council, this three-day celebration of coastal North Carolina marine culture is sure to impress movie fans of all varieties, with an array of local and regional films that highlight life by the coastal waters.
Movies are held throughout the three days at multiple venues throughout the region, and after the films are over, visitors can keep the good times going with a wide array of events that are held at accompanying destinations like Jennette’s Pier in Nags Head, the Dare County Arts Council in Manteo, and other popular spots all along the central Outer Banks. The films showcased in the festival vary, and can include everything from the coolest surfer flicks to documentaries about what lies just beneath the water. Art exhibits, live music, contests, and plenty of fun are also hallmarks of the event, and the public is welcome to join in for a portion of the event, or the entire three days of festivities.
