Natural Art Surf Shop and In The Eye Surfboards has been in the business for more than 30 years. They offer quality custom surfboards, bodyboards, skimboards and a full line of accessories. When they opened in 1977 in a transformed Whatsa Burger, they only had in stock a dozen surfboards, one case of wax, a dozen leashes and 2 dozen t-shirts, which they had been silk screening themselves!
They were crafting handmade shorts and shirts and continue to offer the handmade shirts today! Natural Art Surf Shop has plenty to offer the modern surfer today including in-house glassers. They do repairs and make sure you walk away with exactly what you need. You can order a custom board and check out the surf report and surf log online. This year, the Duck Jazz Festival proudly reaches its 16th anniversary, and with it, we unveil our artistic vision:“Duck Grooves: The Sound of Jazz,” is an electrifying celebration of jazz’s dynamic, ever-evolving nature, set against the stunning backdrop of the Currituck Sound. It’s a fusion of past, present, and future, where the timeless traditions of jazz intersect with the vibrancy of new, innovative sounds. Just as the sound of jazz flows and adapts, so too does the landscape of Duck where the rhythm of the music harmonizes with the natural beauty of the water and the surrounding environment.
Vacationers adore the Outer Banks for its unspoiled stretches of undeveloped shoreline, and some may not initially realize that this sporadic lack of development is completely intentional, and is the result of decades of careful environmental planning. While tourism flourished on the beaches, for generations, locals and visitors alike made inquiries and partnerships with government branches to ensure that certain areas of the Outer Banks would always remain pristine, unspoiled, and open to everyone.
