We specialize in big-game offshore fishing! All twelve months of the year, it’s all we do other than days when the weather keeps us at the dock. Deep winter is the best time to catch a Giant Bluefin Tuna, and that’s what we do best.
Depending on the season, you might hook into White Marlin, Blacktip Shark, Bigeye Tuna, Bluefin Tuna, Skipjack Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, and whatever else is biting. You’ll target your catch by spinning, popping, trolling, jigging, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Reed can also have you kite fishing.
Families who love fishing together will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Also, remember to bring snacks so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty stomach!
You’ll step aboard a 60’ Offshore sport fishing with room for 6 passengers. It comes with outriggers, downriggers, a fighting chair, and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. Your captain will provide rods and reels, as well as lures. Live bait is on offer, but you should ask the captain whether you’ll be catching it yourself.
A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. A 10–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work. Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, so all you have to do is look forward to your trip! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. If you don’t know what to expect, ask the captain. Please note there is an additional 6% sales tax.
It’s recommended to bring sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen (non-spray), and bottled water. If you’d like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
The click of a button is the only thing keeping you from a great day on the water with Kahuna Charters LLC!
