Head to the Island Farm in Manteo where history, local culture, and the holiday spirit will combine for a fun and multiple-day event that showcases the holiday traditions of the earliest days on the Outer Banks.
Visitors will enjoy a beautifully landscaped site, inside and out, while costumed interpreters will share how Roanoke Island families celebrated the Christmas holiday in the mid-1800s. The event will include a wide array of hands-on activities and demonstrations for visitors of all ages, including holiday crafts, cooking and food exhibits, candle-making, kettle corn, and much more. Christmas ornament crafting and grapevine wreath making will be the highlights of the three-day event, along with the opportunity to visit and have pictures made with St. Nicholas inside the Island Farm’s historic homeplace. With lots of ways to ring in the season, Christmas on the North End is a joyful and unique celebration that is both educational and miles of fun for visitors all along the Outer Banks. Tickets are required for adults and children 4 and over and can be purchased at Roanoke Island’s Island Farm on the day of the visit.
